Built by a Birmingham tutor who knows the test inside out

GrammarPath was created by the team behind Bright Mentors, a tuition centre based in Hockley, Birmingham. With over 20 years of experience preparing West Midlands children for the 11+ examination, we noticed a gap that no national provider was filling.

Every major competitor (PiAcademy, Examberry, Atom Learning) produces papers for a national audience. Their contexts are London. Their benchmark schools are grammar schools in Kent or Buckinghamshire. None of them mention Cadbury's, Villa Park, or the Bullring. Ours do.

This includes King Edward VI schools (KEHS, Camp Hill Boys, Camp Hill Girls, Five Ways, Handsworth, Aston, Sheldon Heath, Stratford), Wolverhampton Girls' High, Walsall Grammar, Queen Mary's Grammar (Walsall), and others across Birmingham and the Black Country.
You receive two files instantly. First, an interactive HTML file that works in any web browser. This includes timed sections, clickable answers, and an automatic score calculator. Second, a clean PDF for printing and working through on paper. Both are yours to keep and use as many times as you like.
GL Assessment converts your child's marks into an age-standardised score based on their exact age on the day of the test. A child born in August will be nearly a year younger than one born the previous September, both sitting the same exam. The standardised score adjusts for this, giving younger children an upward correction. Our mark scheme does this automatically when you enter your child's date of birth. The result is on the West Midlands partnership scale, an age-weighted standardisation around a median of 200, not the national mean-of-100 scale used in other regions.
Most families begin intensive 11+ preparation in Year 5 (age 9–10), with practice papers used from around January of Year 6 onwards, ramping up through the summer before the September exam. GrammarPath papers are appropriate from Year 5 with adult support, or independently in Year 6.
Yes. The 4-Paper Bundle covers all four papers. Papers 1 and 2 are available immediately. Papers 3 and 4 will be delivered to your email as soon as they're released (June and July 2026 respectively). You pay once and receive everything.
